Extraction of Lignin from Agro-Industrial Waste for use as Aflame Retardant in Polymers-Industrial Approach

I studied a degree in Chemical Engineering in Materials at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Autonomous University of Querétaro, Mexico (2010-2014) and a Master's degree in plastic and rubber transformation processes at the EAFIT University, Colombia (2018-2019). My work experience began in 2015 as an analyst in the materials laboratory at Plásticos Técnicos Mexicanos S.A. de C.V. (PTM). This position allowed me to know the properties of the recovered plastics, as well as to implement in the organization the most representative tests of the industry according to ISO regulations. In 2016, the work carried out in the laboratory led me to the recently created research and development department, a position in which I worked as an R&D analyst and was part of the team that allowed the percentage of recovered material to be 73% from production in 2014 to 92% in 2019. The work done in this department gave me the opportunity to receive full support from the company for the study of the master's degree. Regarding the financing to carry out my research, I have had private capital (from PTM) as well as various support: mainly from CONACYT's innovation stimulus program. After completing the master's degree, I took the direction of the R&D department at PTM, from where I have worked to form close links with universities and research centers to generate a true public-private strategic alliance that allows PTM to consolidate itself as an innovative company, with high technological prestige. Within the work carried out in the R&D department to date, we have generated the industrial secret that resulted in the first retail box made with 100% recycled material for Coca Cola FEMSA, as well as the participation in two patents granted in PCT and the first work published in an indexed magazine in the history of PTM in co-authorship with the CINVESTAV Querétaro unit
